What are the essential nutritional needs for cats?

I would like to make my own dry cat food. I have a recipes for the basic foundation, but would like a little specifics. My cats have skin issues and digestive issues (they act bulimic, always barfing after they eat and they don't chew it). Urinating and bowels seem okay. I know they need Brewer's yeast and lots of protein, but what else can I provide in their food that would be beneficial for them? Does anyone have any good recipes for making dry cat food? How about wet cat food?
